MIXING

If you want us to turn your song into a high quality release ready, radio mix:
a professional, great sounding, popping-right-out-of-the-radio mix,
or a delicate mix, embracing the subtleties of your initial song and mix idea,
you are at the right address….

STUDIO MIX

  • Professional radio mixes.
  • Great sound.
  • Referencing your guide mixes and notes.
  • Free mix advice.
  • Mastered (if you want).
  • Some artists might remember the first time in a big mix studio: visually impressive and comfortable; great chats with the staff and engineers about musical legends and recording tales, the great surrounding restaurants and bars.
The temptation to hook up some of the studio’s expensive vintage gear for the mix can’t be resisted, and after playing around with a couple of settings, there is no use for it in the end. The discussions, when band members sit in different places in the room and don’t hear things the same way. In short: there is a lot of time and money wasted.

    Here is another way:

Let us do a STUDIO MIX or PRODUCER MIX in our studio and you can check it out remotely at the comfort of your home or in your own studio with the system you know. And while we are working on it, you can use the time and write a new song or fix the that lovely old guitar amp of yours, you have not used in a while.

Your ideas, rough mixes, notes and references are our guidelines, and after you listened and gave us a few small amendments, the mix will be done. Contact us for more info or a call.

    FAQ MIXING

    Magic.

A studio mix is a mixing process that we apply to the individual channel/track and stems files you sent to me. We import these listen through them and set up a mix session and get started with the mix. All instruments and vocals will be balanced in volume trim and with volume rides, equalizer and dynamics, adding effects and reverbs or rooms. Turning down noises, and unused parts. At the end a stereo or spacial file is generated making sure there is enough headroom and dynamics.
    PayPal.

Via Paypal, you pay half of the mix fee we initially agree on beforehand, to start the mixing process. Once you are happy with the mix, you pay the rest.
    Mix Changes.

We make mix changes, revisions, until you are happy with the result. Mix revisions are necessary to hone in on the right direction in close online collaboration. If there are varying musical outcomes, we can let you listen to the different versions, to choose the best suitable way to go. Of course, If you really don’t like where it is going, you will get a refund.
    Yes.

In the beginning you send us a version of your guide mix and we discuss it. We can give you advice on if we think its ready to mix or if it needs more work on your side. Once you uploaded, we will go through each audio file, and tell you if something is wrong or missing, or needs re-recording or re-sending.
    Minimum 1-2 days per mix.

It very much depends on the audio files, or the session you send. How many tracks are there ? Are all the files labelled reasonably well ? Are there no digital clicks or clip distortions in the recording? Is the timing of the tracks working with the other tracks? Are the files all starting from 0:00, or in case of a DAW session - is it well labeled and organized ? Is the musical material quite simple or very complex / are there many parts ? Is the song longer than 3min?

Normally we mix 1-2 days once we received all the files in good shape and they are labeled and sorted responsibly, from when they are set up in our session aka from session start to end of the first draft. But depending on above list it can take longer. That is why there is no fixed price on a Mix. Please ask for an adapted quote.

    YES.

We call it a PRODUCER MIX. Tis includes a lot of reworking, adding and arranging. We contribute our production style and sound to your song. We add new sounds, effects, instruments and percussion; re-amping, re-modeling, or replacing tracks; re-pitching vocals and instruments; adding harmonies; editing, re-timing and re-grooving rhythmic elements; re-structuring and re-arranging the song; all processes and ideas are in close online collaboration with you.
    We do our best.

Sometimes there are limitations to reworking recorded material and especially vocals, but we will try. We have a lot of experience with characteristic voices and lead singers. We edited countless vocal tracks - in order to make them sound more fitting in the song, groovier, or even more natural. We will listen to the rough mix and tell you what is possible. Please send us a file without reverb or room or other effects on the vocal audio track. Depending on intensity of work time there might be an additional cost involved.
